The Bernina

Express

Designated a UNESCO world heritage site since 2008, the Bernina Express is the slowest express train in Europe and traverses one of the steepest routes in the world, without the aid of a rack gear.

Departing from Tirano Station, just a few kilometres from Livigno, the train climbs to an altitude of 2,250 metres up to the glaciers of Bernina, passing by untouched and varied natural landscapes. The journey concludes at St. Moritz, an area in the heart of the Engadin famed for its luxury, where you can relax and do some shopping at the amazing shops on offer.
